Extract from South Australian Police Gazette.

(From Gazette, 23rd October, 1889, page 170.)

Thomas Edward Jenner, late teller of the National Bank of Australasia, Hindmarch, age twenty-five, height 6ft. Bin. or 9in., face somewhat freckled and reddish complexion, light-brown hair and moustache only, low forehead, bites his finger-nails, scar on left arm near wrist; usually wears his hat (a black hard felt) tilted over eyes, and when last seen wore black coat and light trousers, for embezzling, on the 16th instant, in his capacity as above, £395, the property of the bank. Special efforts to be made for this offender’s apprehension. G. 1488. [He was in the Mauritius, and speaks French fluently. He left Adelaide on the 6th instant by train for Melbourne, and has probably the money embezzled —consisting of £lB5 in National Bank notes, £l2O in ?iotes of other banks, and £9O in gold—with him. A reward of £IOO is offered for his arrest, and £l5O for the recovery of the money or, pro rat&, for the recovery of any portion of it. The arrest of this offender is very desirable, and as he may endeavour to get to San Francisco by tvay of this colony it is reguested that a strict watch be kept on all vessels leaving for there and other ports.]
