Rewards
The sum of £8 has been awarded to Constable William Bern, Thames Police, for the arrest of John Moss, a deserter from Her Majesty’s ship “ Orlando.”
The sum of £8 has been awarded to Constable Charles Hogg, Kamo Police, for the arrest of Arthur William Casson, a deserter from Her Majesty’s ship “ Diamond.”
The sum of £4 has been awarded to Constable Patrick Joyce, and the sum of £2 each to Constable Thomas Griffith and Detective Joseph A. McGrath, Otautau, Lumsden, and Dunedin Police, for the arrest of David Smith, a deserter from Her Majesty’s ship “Lizard.”
The sum of £1 has been awarded by Mr. Henry White, of Milton, to Constable John Groves, Milton Police, in recognition of his services in detecting persons who destroyed advertisements on Mr. White’s hoarding.
The sum of £1 13s. has been awarded by the Customs Department to Constable Joseph Kenny, Wellington Police, in recognition of his services in connection with the conviction of John Thomas, fined £2 2s. for smuggling tobacco.
