Deserters from Her Majesty’s Service.

Samuel Edwards is charged on warrant with deserting from Her Majesty’s ship “Egeria,”at Auckland, on the 6th December last. Description : A native of Wrexham, Denbigh, Wales, an ordinary-seaman, twenty-one years of age, nearly 6ft. 3in. high, ruddy complexion, no whiskers or moustache, rough lightish-red hair, blue eyes, very large hands and feet, has an overgrown appearance and a little stoop. A reward of £3 is offered for his arrest, in addition to £5 reward offered by the Colonial Government.

David Smith is charged with deserting from Her Majesty’s ship “ Lizard,” at Milford Sound, on the 27th January last. Description: Scotch, an ordinary-seaman, eighteen years and four months old, sft. 6in. high, fair complexion, brown hair and ring and anchor tattooed on left hand. A reward of £3 is offered for Iris arrest, in addition to £5 reward offered by the Colonial Government.

John Moss is charged with deserting from Her Majesty’s ship “ Orlando,” at Auckland, on the 3rd ultimo. Description : English, a stoker, twenty-three years of age, sft. 4in. high, ruddy complexion, hazel eyes, brown hair, anchor, flowers, and girl tattooed on left arm, TRUE LOVE and sailor on right arm,, and Maltese cross on left leg. Percy E. Mercer is charged with deserting from Her Majesty’s ship “Lizard,” at Auckland, on the 30tli February last. Description: A native of Kent, an ordinary-seaman, twenty years of age, sft. ljin. high, fresh complexion, brown eyes, and dark-brown hair. A reward of £3 is offered for his arrest, in addition to £5 reward offered by the Colonial Government.

John J. Godden is charged with deserting from Her Majesty’s ship “ Dart,” at Auckland, on the 2nd instant. Description : A native of Dorset, England, a quartermaster, twenty-seven years of age, sft. Tin. high, fresh complexion, grey eyes, and light-coloured hair. A reward of £3 is offered for his arrest, in addition to £5 reward offered by the Colonial Government.
