Oh the 14th or 15th ultimo, at Heyward’s Road, Purakanui, Dunedin District, 20 chains of a barbed-wire fence, and 15 chains of a plain-wire fence, the property of Carl Jensen, were maliciously cut in several places and damaged to the extent of £25. Mr. Jensen guarantees £25 reward on conviction of the offender or offenders.

Abahdohikg a female child in Mr. Hallenstein’s grounds, at the corner of London and Victoria Streets, Dunedin : Emma Brooklands, the mother of the child, has been arrested for this offence by Sergeant-Major John Bevin, Dunedin Police, and remanded.

William Pearce is charged, on warrant issued by the Kawakawa Bench, with having, on the 12th November last, at Ngawha, Ohaeawai, obtained goods, value £2, from William E. Goffe by false representations. Description : An American, a gum-digger, about thirty years of age, sft. Bin. or 9in. high, 11 stone weight, dark complexion and eyes, dark beard whiskers and moustache; wore blue-serge shirt; fond of drink. He was arrested for this offence by Constable E. 0. Hughes, Kawakawa Police, on the 11th December last, and admitted to hail on his own recognisance in the sum of £25 to appear at the Resident Magistrate’s Court, Kawakawa, on the 12th January last, but he failed to appear, and a warrant was again issued for his arrest for the offence.

Robert Mortoh is charged, on warrant issued by the Havelock Bench (Marlborough), with forgery and uttering'. Description: About forty-five years of age, sft. Sin. or 9in. high, fair side-whiskers and moustache, chin shaved, prominent nose and cheek-bones ; usually wears dark-frock coat and vest, light trousers, and hard hat. He was lately employed by Hansen and Son, flax-millers, Pelorus. Ho is believed to be identical with Robert Morton, alias Leonard, who was sentenced at Wanganui on the 27th October, 1879, to ten years’ penal servitude for forgery and previous convictions.
