Henry W. Tugwell is charged on warrant with fraudulently falsifying the books of the Equitable Co-operative Company (Limited), Collins Street East, Melbourne, on the 29th ultimo. Description: Supposed English, clerk, about twenty-seven years of age, slight build, sft. 7in. or Bin. high, sickly complexion, dark hair, slight fair moustache only, three or four fingers off left hand, which he nearly always keeps in his pocket; wore dark-tweed beaufort suit, black boxer hat, watch and chain, and gold rings. Has shares in the Lubia Gold-mining Company at Charters Towers. He has taken the scrip with him, and may go there. Offender was employed as ledger-keeper, and so falsified the books that ho managed to defraud the company of £2l 2s. 6d. Photo, of offender in the office of the Melbourne C. I. Police.— O. 3217, 23rd April, 1887. [lt has been ascertained that this offender has come to Neiv Zealand, and vms at Dunedin and Lyttelton.'] Photo, in Inspector’s office, Wellington.

William Eldef-d is charged on warrant with making a false entry in a certain book of accounts, with intent to defraud the Equitable Co-operative Society (Limited), Melbourne, on the 25th March. Description : English, clerk, about twenty-five years of age, sft. Biu. high, slight build, fair complexion, light-brown hair, light-brown or sandy moustache only, rather sunken eyes; generally dresses respectably in the English style of sac or beaufort coat, and belltopper hat. Noticeable scar on thumb of right hand. May have gone to Sydney, Newcastle, or Brisbane. He left for Sydney on the 4tli instant. He has recently written to his father at Brighton, Victoria, from New South Wales. Photo, of the offender in the office of the Melbourne C. I. Police.—O. 3184, 25th April, 1887.
