Rewards. The sum of £3 has been awarded to Sergeant Henry Hallett, Christchurch Police, in recognition of his exertions
in connection with the prosecution of William John White, jun., fined £2O 2s. on three charges of sly grog-selling.
The sum of £8 has been awarded to Constable John Madden, Wellington Police, for the arrest of a deserter from Her Majesty’s ship “ Mirandaand the sum of £1 for the arrest of a straggler from Her Majesty’s ship “ Nelson.”
The sum of £3 has been awarded to Detective William Campbell, Wellington Police, for the arrest of three stragglers from Her Majesty’s ship “ Nelson.”
The sum of £lO has been awarded to Detective William L. Chrystal, Wellington Police, for the arrest of two deserters from Her Majesty’s ship “ Nelson.”
The sum of £8 has been awarded to Sergeant F. H. Morice, Wellington Police, for the arrest of a deserter from Her Majesty’s ship “ Nelson.”
The sum of £3 has been awarded by three of the employes of the Hibernian Hotel, Invercargill, to Constable John Bridgman, Invercargill Police, in recognition of his prompt services in saving their effects at the fire in Sprey Street on the morning of the 19tli ultimo.
