Missing Friends.
Information is requested respecting Llewellyn Ormroyd Griffiths, a native of Wales, thirty-five years of age, sft. lOJin. high, smart appearance, dark complexion and hair, usually clean-shaved except dark heavy moustache, inclined to be talkative and frequents hotels. He was in the Armed Constabulary about three years ago. He is inquired for at the instance of his father, who is licensee of the Royal Oak Hotel, Ruthin, Denbighshire, North Wales.
(See Police Gazette, 1885, page 52.) William Blake Graham died in the Auckland Hospital on the 19th Juljq 1882.
Information is requested respecting Henry Price, a native of Australia, a labourer, twenty-six years of age, about sft. 6in. high, slight build, fair complexion, fair hair, no hair on face except small white moustache, bow-legged, smart appearance. It is said he is part owner with Thomas Kelly of a racehorse which ran at Wanganui last year, and is supposed to be at present in the Wanganui District. He is inquired for so that proceedings may be taken to compel him to contribute towards the support of his mother, who resides at Otautau.
Information is requested respecting Arthur Planta, alias Picare, a native of Switzerland, a labourer, thirty-three years of age, sft. sfin. high, slight build, sallow complexion, hazel eyes, brown hair, and small brown beard whiskers and moustache, of weak intellect. He was sentenced at Wellington on the sth January, 1885, to three months’ labour for having no visible means of support. (See Police Gazette, 1885, page TO.) Before coming to Wellington he resided for some time at Motueka, Nelson District. He is inquired for at the instance of R. J. Houston.
Information is requested respecting William Dimoclc Perkins, a buslnnan or ostler, forty-three years of age, nearly 6ft. high, dark complexion, black hair and beard; unmarried; was given to spreeing. He at one time went by the name of Henry Perkins. Ho came to this colony from South Australia, and it is said died at Auckland within the last two years, but no record of his death appears in the register of deaths. He has no relatives in this colony.
(See Police Gazette, 1887, page 43.) James Albert Westfield was discharged from Nelson Gaol in October last, after undergoing sentences of three months’ labour for attempted robbery and larceny. (See Police Gazette, 1886, page 218.) He left Nelson about the beginning of November last, going in the direction of the West Coast. Pie is fifty-two years of age, and not thirty-two years as previously stated.
Information is requested respecting David Madden, formerly a member of the Grey County Council. He was in Wellington about a year ago. He is inquired for at the instance of the Controller and Auditor-General, Wellington.
Information is requested respecting Nathaniel Malcolm, a native of Scotland, an upholsterer, twenty-two or twentythree years of age, st't. Sin. or 9in. high, medium build, pale complexion, dark hair and eyes. He worked at his trade for Messrs. North and Scouliar, Lambton Quay, Wellington, up to the 26th ultimo, when he left without saying where he was going.
Information is requested respecting John Dockrell, twenty-five or twenty-six years of age, who is supposed to have been employed in surveying operations in this colony. His father is a non-commissioned officer of the Royal Engineers at Aldershot. His relatives in England have not heard of him for the past year, and are anxious to know of his whereabouts.
Information is requested respecting George Playstead, a native of England, a labourer, twenty-years of age, sft. Tin. high, rather stout build, light-brown hair, blue eyes, a slight cast in one eye, no hair on face. He left Lyttelton for Wellington by a coasting schooner about two years ago, and has not since been heard of. He is inquired for at the instance of his mother.
Information is requested respecting Victoria Happie, sometimes called Queen Victoria, a Maori, seventy-six years of age, sft. 3in. or 4in. high, sickly appearance, shrivelled features, very much stooped from age, and very weak. She was seen about the 29th January last in a pie-shop in Esk
Street, Invercargill, when she said she intended walking to Riverton, but no tidings of her can since be obtained.
Information is requested respecting Thomas Kerr Anderson, a native of Ireland, late a detective in the Queensland Police Force, forty-seven years of age, sft. lOin. high, grey hair worn short, bushy whiskers and moustache, remarkable thick curly black eyebrows. He left Brisbane during the first week of last month, and is supposed to be accompanied by a woman about forty years of age but looks younger, with fair hair and dark eyebrows. He is inquired for at the instance of liis wife, whom ho has left destitute at Brisbane.
