Five Hundred Dollars Reward. —The above reward is offered for the arrest of George J. Fryer, who, up to the 7th November, 1885, was agent for the American Express Company at Glencoe, Ontario. On that date the said Fryer absconded, taking with him about $7,000 in Canada money, for which the American Express Company is liable. The money has undoubtedly been exchanged for United States funds. The said Fryer is about thirty-five years of age, sft. llin. high, about 2101 b. weight. Has naturally an inclination to close the left eye more than the right one, and a peculiar loose-jointed walk, which those who know him say they could tell him by some distance off. The thumb of one of his hands is rather pointed, caused by a felon. His whiskers, when he left, covered his chin as well as sides of his face; had also a moustache, all of a sandy complexion. Fryer was also agent for the White Star line of steamers, and took with him two steerage tickets. Pie is supposed to be making for some of the Pacific Ocean islands. In addition to above reward of SSOO, 10 per cent, will be paid on all money recovered and paid over to the Express Company upon delivery of said Fryer, alive, to the Superintendent of the American Express Company, Detroit, Michigan, or to M. B. White, General Superintendent, Buffalo, New York. Photograph of offender in office of Melbourne Criminal Investigation Police. —O. 336.—American Express Company, General Superintendent’s Office, Eastern Division, Buffalo, New York, 20th November, 1885.
Five Hundred Dollars Reward. —The above reward is offered for the arrest of W. B. Smith, absconding defaulter, teller of Second National Bank, St. Paul, Minn., to whom he was bonded by the Guarantee Company of North America. Left that city Sunday evening 22nd November, 1885; may probably have taken passage for Australia. Description : Twenty-three years of age, about sft. 3in. high, slight build, dark complexion, darkbrown hair and eyes, has habit of blinking when speaking ; 1201 b. weight. When he left home he had a small dark moustache, and wore a dark overcoat with fur collar. A warrant has been issued for his arrest. The above reward will be paid on his delivery to the police authorities in St. Paul, Minn. Photograph of offender, with specimen of handwriting, in the office of the Melbourne Criminal Investigation Police. —0. 337.
One Thousand Dollars Reward. —The above reward is offered for the arrest of Frederick Fishel, for forgery. Description : Hebrew, about thirty-two years of age, sft. Sin. or 4in. high, slim build, thin dark hair, dark moustache, high forehead, has a dent on bridge of nose, poor teeth, about 1281 b. weight; dresses very neat and stylish, quick in his movements ; is fond of horse-racing, playing of billiards, and all kinds of games. Was last seen in this city about the 18th September, 1885. Send information to William Murray, Superintendent of Police, 300, Mulberry Street, New York. — New York, 4th December, 1885. Photograph in the office of the Melbourne Criminal Investigation Police.—o. 338.
