About 2 p.m. on the 29th ultimo, at Tahoraite, Hawke’s Bay District, an attempt was made to set fire to a pile of planking, the property of Mullinger, Brett, and Co., by placing a piece of ignited timber under the planking.

Between the 29th ultimo and 4th instant a whare, containing a number of bush-tools, value about £4O, situate in McLeod’s bush, near Helensville, the property of James and Andrew McLeod, was with contents maliciously destroyed by fire.
