Missing Friends.

Information is requested respecting Thomas Roberts, supposed English, a watchmaker, about fifty years of age, about 5 feet 2 inches high, medium build, sallow complexion, brown hair, small brown beard and moustache turning grey, cheeks shaved, stooped. He was heard of at Palmerston

North about two months ago. He left Wellington about January, 1884, taking with him two watches which were given to him to repair, and has not since returned them. The watches are described as an English silver horizontal, No. 5067, and a silver hunting Geneva, No. 40481.

Information is requested respecting the antecedents of Charles King Boyd, alias Lancelot Loraine-Lauric, who, it is said, served a sentence in this colony four years ago. Description : A native of Victoria, British Columbia, a clerk, twenty-three years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, 10 stone 21b. weight, brown hair, and blue eyes; hard of hearing. Information is requested respecting Hubert Coughlan, a native of Ireland, a waiter, about forty-five years of age, 5 feet 5.4 inches high, stout build, fresh complexion, dark whiskers and moustache, chin shaved, smart appearance. He is addicted to drink, and when intoxicated is subject to fits. He was seen in Boulcott Street, Wellington, on the 19th instant.

George Helloran is missing from his home in Melville Street, Dunedin, since the 10th instant. Description : A native of the colony, fourteen years of age, medium height and build for his age, dai’k complexion, dark hair; dressed in light-coloured coat and vest, pepper- and salt-coloured tweed-trousers, dark-blue hat, and new lace-up boots.

Information is requested respecting John Krakowski, a native of Austria-Hungary, a labourer, about forty years of age, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, dark swarthy complexion. He left Nelson in January last, saying that he was going to work in the country. He formerly lived at Hokitika. He is inquired for so that he may be proceeded against for the amount due for the maintenance of his two children in the Nelson Industrial School.

Information is requested respecting James Thompson, supposed a native of the colony, sixteen years and nine months of age, about 5 feet 3 inches high, dark hair and complexion, straight active appearance. He was committed to the Howe Street Industrial School, Auckland, by the Hamilton Bench in February, 1878, and absconded from the Kohimarama Industrial School in July, 1883, and has not since been heard of. His father, James Thompson, who is a blacksmith by trade, lives in the neighbourhood of Hamilton, Waikato.

Information is requested respecting William O’Leary, supposed a native of the colony, sixteen and a half years of age, about 5 feet 2 inches high, sallow complexion, dark hair, straight active appearance. He was committed to the Howe Street Industrial School, Auckland, by the Hawera Bench, on the 11th April, 1883, and absconded from the Kohimarama Industrial School in July following, in company with the boy James Thompson, and has not since been heard of. His father, John O’Leary, is a labourer employed on the railway-line near Ormondville, Hawke’s Bay.

Information is requested respecting John Parker, supposed a native of the colony, fifteen and a half years of age, about 4 feet 8 inches high, fresh complexion, light-brown hair. He was committed to the Kohimarama Industrial School from Nelson Creek, Grey Valley, in 1881, and deserted from the school in July, 1883, in company with the boys James Thompson and William O’Leary, and has not since been heard of.

Information is requested respecting Joseph Williams, a native of the West of England, a navvy, about thirty-three years of age, 5 feet 8 or 9 inches high, medium build, fresh complexion, brown hair. He left the railway-works at Paikakariki in October last, with the intention of going to Mas ter ton. He formerly lived at the Thames. He is inquired for so that proceedings may be taken against him for the recovery of the amount due for the maintenance of his three children in the Thames Orphanage.

George Sellars is missing from his home in Abel Smith Street, Wellington, since the 24th instant. Description: Scotch, a commercial traveller, about forty years of age, about 5 feet 4 inches high, stout build, brown hair and whiskers, large moustache, chin shaved; wore grey-tweecl suit and black hard felt hat; of intemperate habits.
