Horse- and Cattle-Stealing.
Stolen on the 17th or 18th ultimo, from a paddock at North-East Valley, Dunedin, a strawberry heifer, dark colour about neck, ten months old, between a Devon and Ayrshire breed, horns beginning to grow ; the property of John Campbell; value £3. Identifiable.
Stolen during the night of the 21st ultimo, from a paddock at Grange Farm, near Ashburton, a dark-bay mare, heavy-draught breed, nuggetty build, between 14 and 15 hands high, aged, black points, star on forehead, a white spot on back, one of hind legs white (supposed the near one), unbranded, very quiet, unshod except a half shoe on one of fore hoofs ; the property of William Lockhart; value £lB. Identifiable.

The two draught horses, the property of Frederick George Fowler, supposed stolen from St. Clair, Caversham, have been found straying.

R. W. Lionel Coles, charged on warrant with the larceny as a bailee of a horse, saddle, and bridle, at Carnarvon, the property of Falconer B. Larkworthy, has been arrested at Featherston by Detective William Campbell, Wellington Police, and remanded to Palmerston North.
