Rewards
The sum of £3 has been awarded from the Reward Fund to Constable Alfred Edward Remer, Wellington Police, in recognition of his services in connection with the detection and prosecution of Alfred Morgan, fined £lO and costs for sly grog-selling.
The sum of £4 has been awarded to Constable Patrick J. Herlihy, Lyttelton Police, for the arrest of two deserters from the ship “ Canterbury.”
The sum of 10s. has been awarded to Constable William Christie, Dunedin Police, for the arrest of a deserter from the schooner “ Carin.”
The sum of £3 each has been awarded to Sergeant-Major William Thomas Mason and Constables Patrick McCormack and Timothy O’Conor, Lyttelton Police, for the arrest of a deserter from the steamer “ Tongariro,” and of two firemen belonging to the same steamer, for being absent without leave.
The sum of £1 Is. each has been awarded by the New Zealand Farmers’ Co-operation Association, Canterbury, to Detectives Thomas Neil and Maurice O’Connor, Christchurch Police, in recognition of their services in connection with the recovery of stolen property found in the possession of John William Crabtree, recently convicted of horse-stealing and larceny.
The sum of 10s. has been awarded to Constable Patrick Bree, Dunedin Police, for the arrest of a deserter from the barque “ Aiksliaw.”
