Deserters from Merchant Vessels.
John Sullivan is charged, on warrant issued by the Picton Bench, with deserting from the ship “Lyttelton,” at Picton, on the 24th or 25th ultimo. Description: Supposed a native of London, a fireman, about thirty-four years of age, about 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, medium build, fresh complexion, blue eyes, dark hair, thin dark whiskers, thick moustache; wore round felt hat; Irish-American accent. It is supposed he left Picton on tho morning of the 25th ultimo by the steamer “ Wanaka ” for Wellington. A reward of £lO is offered for his arrest.
Martin Morrisey is charged with deserting from the barque “Thomas Bell,” at Lyttelton, between the 23rd and 26th ultimo. Description: Irish, an able seaman, about fifty-four years of age, between 5 feet 10 inches and 6 feet high, stout build, fresh complexion, grey hair and sidewhiskers, chin and upper lip shaved ; rospectable appearance. A reward of £3 is offered for his arrest if effected before tho barquo sails, which will be about tho 15th instant.
