On the morning of the 30th January last, at the Maori pa, Whakataki, Tenui, two whares containing six guns, two revolvers, carpenters’ tools, harness, bedding, and a quantity of clothing, &c., the property of Peter Johnson, value about £IBO, were, with contents, maliciously destroyed by fire.

On the morning of the lbth ultimo the store of Robert Atcheson, Palmerston Street, Riverton, was maliciously set on fire from the outside of the building, but the fire was discovered and extinguished before much damage was done. The building was insured for £l5O, and the stock for £SOO.
