Missing Friends.

Information is requested respecting the whereabouts of Mary Pool, nee Hartford, who left her husband’s home at Oamaru on the 12th ultimo. Description : English, twentythree years of age, 5 feet 2 inches high, light-brown hair, pale complexion, mole on right side of nose ; wore blue dress, bluevelvet hat, and blue-serge waterproof-cloak. She was seen crossing the Waitaki Bridge, going towards Canterbury, on the 13th ultimo. She had been an inmate of the Dunedin Lunatic Asylum, and was discharged therefrom in April last. She arrived at Lyttelton in 1881, and since then lived at Christchurch and Akaroa.

Information is requested respecting the whereabouts of Peter Norbury, a native of Hale, near Bowden, Cheshire, a storekeeper when last heard of, forty-five years of age, about 5 feet 4£ inches high, well-developed forehead, straight nose, blueish-grey eyes, brown bushy hair, sandy whiskers and moustache. He left England in July, 1863, by the ship “ Brothers Pride,” for Lyttelton, and was heard from by letter from Karaka Bridge Stores, Thames Gold Fields, in 1876, in which he said that he intended going to Australia. Inquiry is made for him at the request of Mr. John Norbury, 1, Fern Bank, Shrewsbury Street, Brooks Bar, Manchester.

Information is requested respecting the whereabouts of Henry Phillip Beehre, who left the Cape of Good Hope about eleven years ago, and was last heard of from Auckland, and was then said to be engaged farming. Inquiry is made for him at the request of his mother, who is residing in Zeike Street, Cape Town. She is in very bad circumstances, and anxious to hear from him.

Information is requested as to the whereabouts of Thomas Brown Bestarick, formerly of Devonport, England, who sailed from England in the ship “ Helen Denny ” for Otago in 1877. His age was then about forty-three years. Any person who can give any information as to his death or otherwise is requested to communicate with the Hon. the Colonial Secretary, Wellington.
