Deserters from Merchant Vessels.

John Pitt is charged, on warrant issued by the Wellington Bench, with deserting from the barque “ Annie Melhuish,” at Wellington, on the 21st ultimo. Description : English, an able seaman, twenty-four years of age, about 5 feet 6 inches high, rather stout build, fair complexion, brown hair worn short, clean-shaved except brown moustache.

F. Petersen, B. O. Olsen, George Thomson, and Charles Buckland, able seamen, are charged with deserting from the barque “Electra,” at Bluff Harbour, on the 16th or 17th ultimo. Description : Petersen is a Finlander, about thirty years of age, 5 feet 9 inches high, slight build, fair complexion, fair hair beard whiskers and moustache. Olsen is Dutch, twenty-seven years of age, 5 feet 5 inches high, slight build, very fair complexion, no hair on face. Thomson is a Norwegian, twentyeight years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, fair complexion, cleanshaved except small fair moustache. Buckland is a Swede, thirty-five years of age, 5 feet 10 inches high, fair complexion, fair hair beard whiskers and moustache. A reward of £2 each is offered for their arrest.

Oscar Carlson and William Tangren, seamen, are charged on warrant with deserting from the barque “ Crownthorpe,” at Wellington, on the 22nd ultimo. Description: Carlson is a Scandinavian, about tw'enty-four years of age, about 5 feet 8 inches high, rather full face, dark hair, no hair on face,

Tangren is a Scandinavian, about twenty-five years of age, about 5 feet 8 incites high, fair complexion, fair hair, small fair moustache and goatee, pleasant expression of features, peculiar swinging gait. A reward of £2 each is offered for their arrest.

Michael Power, James McLean, and Charles Cooper are charged with deserting from the steamer “ Fenstanton,” at Port Chalmes, during the night of the 24th ultimo. Description : Power is Irish, thirtv-two years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, fair complexion, light-brown hair whiskers and moustache, a sore on right eye. McLean is Scotch, twenty-five years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, slight build, fresh complexion, vei’y long nose, fair hair, small fair whiskers and moustache. Cooper is English, seventeen 'iyears of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, slight build, fresh complexioir, fair hair, small fair whiskers and moustache. The steamer will leave Port Chalmers on the 12th instant.
