Deserters from Merchant Vessels.

(See Police Gazette, 1883, page 18.) The warrants issued by the Wellington Bench for the ai’rest of William Ellis, William Williams, John Johanson, Gustav Jonson, and B. Hanson, for deserting from the barque “May Queen,” have been cancelled.

A reward of £2 is offered for his arrest if effected before the vessel leaves Lyttelton, which will be about the 12tli instant.

Saunders, James Jackson, Richard Templeton, and Henry James Smith, able seamen, are charged, on warrant issued by the Lyttelton Bench, with deserting from the barque “Rialto,” at Lyttelton, during the night of the 28th ultimo. Description: Saunders is English, twenty-two years of age, 5 feet 8 or 9 inches high, slight build, dark hair, no hair on face.
