Deserters from Merchant Vessels.

August llagstron, O. Johanason, and A. Borenson, ordinary seamen, are charged, on warrant issued by the Dunedin Bench, with deserting from the brigantine “ Odin,” at Dunedin, during the night of the 21st ultimo. Description: llagstron is a Swede, about twenty years of age, about 5 feet high, dark complexion and hair, and small dark moustache; dressed in light-brown tweed suit and black-felt hat. Johanason is a Swede, twenty-one years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, fair complexion and hair and small fair whiskers. Martin Neilson, George Wiseman, George North, William Burley, and Hugh McKenzie are charged with deserting from the barque “ Tongoy,” at Nelson, during the night of tho 26th ultimo. Description : Neilson is a Gorman, twenty-seven years of age, 5 feet 9 inches high, light fair hair, sandy beard and moustache. Wiseman is English, twenty-one years of age, 5 feet 64 inches high, fair hair, no hair on face. North is English, sixteen years of age, 4 feet 8 inches high, dark hair and complexion. Burley is a native of the colony, 5 fett high, hair cut close. McKenzie is Scotch, eighteen years of nge, 5 feet high, swarthy complexion, dark hair.

Thomas Watson Washington is charged with deserting from the barque “ Tongoy,” at The Port, Nelson, during tho night of tho 6th instant. Description : An American negro, thirty years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, black curly hair, a few scattered hairs on face, right forefinger off.

Charles T. Besant is charged, on warrant issued by the Wellington Bench, with deserting from the ship “ Pleione,” at Wellington, on the 9th instant. Description: English, an ordinary seaman, nineteen years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, slight build, fair complexion, reddish lmir, respectable appearance. A reward of £3 is offered for his arrest.
