Deserters from Merchant Vessels.

William Williamson, James Schiber, and John Canham are charged, on warrant issued by the Wellington Bench, with deserting from the barque “City of Tanjore,” at Wellington, during the night of the 6th instant. Description : Williamson is Scotch, an able seaman, twenty-three years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, stout build, fair complexion, brown hair, very slight brown

beard and moustache. Schiber is a German, an ordinary seaman, twenty years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, slight build, fair complexion, yellow curly hair. Can ham is a native of London, an apprentice-seaman, seventeen years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, slight build, light hair ; walks with a very short step.

Fritz Moller and J. Knapp are charged with deserting, during the night of the 10th instant, from the barque “Peep o’Day,” at Nelson. Description: Moller is a Swede, twenty-four years of age, 5 feet fj inches high, fair hair beard whiskers and moustache. Knapp is a German, twenty-five years of age, 5 feet 11 inches high, fair hair, clean-shaved; dreassed in serge coat and brown-tweed trousers.

Knud Knudson, Gustaf Bark, and Frederick Bennion are •charged, on warrant issued by the Wellington Bench, with deserting from the barque “John Gambles,” at Wellington, during the night of the 10th instant. Description : Knudson is an able seaman, a German, about twenty-six years of age, about 5 feet 5 inches high, slight build, fair complexion, blue eyes, light hair, no hair on face. Bark is a German, an able seaman, about twenty-six years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, stout build, dark complexion, dark hair, and small dark moustache, wore dark suit. Bennion is English, an apprentice seaman, nineteen years of age, 5 feet 11 inches high, slight build, fair complexion, very fair hair, no hair on face. They went towards the Hutt district. A reward of £2 each is offered for their arrest.

Charles T. Frank, A. Peterson, and Peter Johnson are charged with deserting from the barque “Charles G. Rice,” at Port Chalmers, during the night of the 10th instant. Description : Frank is Dutch, about thirty years of age, 5 feet 5 inches high, medium build, fresh complexion, brown eyes, red hair heard whiskers and moustache. Peterson is Dutch, twenty-three years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, medium build, fair fresh complexion, no hair on face. Johnson is Dutch, twenty-seven years of age, 5 feet 9 inches high, medium build, fair fresh complexion, small fair moustache, no hair on face.

John Linn is charged with deserting from the barque “ Beecbdale,” at Port Chalmers, on the 15th instant. Description : A Norwegian, forty years of age, 5 feet 4 inches high, medium build, reddish complexion, light-blue eyes, very light hair, small fair whiskers and moustache. A reward of £3 will be paid for his arrest if effected on or before the 25th instant.
