Deserters from Merchant Vessels.

Alered Robin and Henry Hall, apprentice-seamen, are charged, on warrant issued by the Wellington Bench, with deserting from the ship “Berker,” at Wellington, on the 7th or Bth instant. Description: Robin is eighteen years of age, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, stout build, dark complexion, hazel eyes, dark-brown hair; dressed in blue-serge suit and marine cap with flag on front. Hall is seventeen years of age, 5 feet high, slight build, fair complexion, blue eyes rather sore and red, and lightish hair. A reward of £1 each is offered for their arrest.

Frank Raymond, Charles Schmidt, Thomas Connell, Peter Carle, and Peter Johnson, are charged with deserting from the ship “ Star of Erin,” at Port Chalmers, during the night of the 12th instant. Description : Raymond is English, thirty years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, medium build, dark-brown hair, clean-shaved except heavy dark-brown moustache. Schmidt is a German, thirty years of age, 5 feet 10 inches high, stout build, fair complexion, light-brown hair, and light-coloured straggling hairs on face. Connell is Irish, twenty-six years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, medium build, fair freckled complexion, brown hair, small straggling hair 3 on face. Carle is a Norwegian, twenty-two years of age, 5 feet 9 inches high, medium build, fair complexion, small fair beard and moustache. Johnson is a
