Richard Moore is charged with deserting from the ship “ Akaroa,” at Port Chalmers, during the night of the 16th instant. Description : English, a seaman, thirty-three or thirty-four years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, dark sallow complexion, dark eyes, dark hair whiskers and moustache, right shoulder a little higher than left.

Charles Wait, William Essler, Lewis Watson, and Thomas Bell are charged with deserting from the whaleship “ Adeline Gibbs,” at Russell, during the night of the 10th instant. Description : Wait is an American, twenty-eight years of age, 5 feet 10 inches high, brown beard and moustache. Essler is an American, twenty years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, sandy hair and complexion. Watson is an American, twenty-five years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, hair grey at back of head, no hair on face except moustache. Bell is an African black, wore tweed coat and straw hat with wide leaf. A warrant for their arrest to issue. A reward of £5 each will be paid for their arrest if effected within a month.

JonN McDonald, alias Clarke, is charged with deserting from the whaleship “ Robert Morrison,” at Russell, during the night of the 18th instant. Description : Twenty-live years of age, fair complexion, a little hair on chin. A reward of £3 will be paid for his arrest if effected within a month.
