(From Police Gazette, 1882, pages 99, 101, 110, and 156.) Reward. —James George Mahood, charged with suborning a witness, has been committed for trial at the Quarter Sessions, Sydney.—A warrant has been issued, by the Water Police
Bench, for the arreat of James George Mahood, charged with absconding from his bail. He is twenty-eight years of age, about 5 feet 9 inches high, very stout build, blue eyes, fair complexion and hair, moustache, and whiskers, knock-kneed. Supposed to be gone to Melbourne. Mr. James Sharp, surety for James George Mahood, charged with absconding from his bail whilst under committal for trial on a charge of suborning a witness, has offered a reward of £2O for Mahood’s arrest. A
reward of £25 will be paid by Government for such information as shall lead to the apprehension of ex-Constable James George Mahood, who is charged on Judge’s warrant with, failing to appear at the Court of General Quarter Sessions, held in Sydney, on the 3rd April, 1882, to answer to a charge of persuading witnesses to commit wilful and corrupt perjury. It is requested that this notice may be published in the Folice Gazettes of all the colonies.
