Horse and Cattle Stealing.

Stolen on the 20th ultimo, from a paddock in Kilmore Street, Christchurch, an iron-grey horse, suilable for a cab, about 15 hands high, shod, no visible brand, value £2O; and a bay mare, suitable for a bug ij, about 14| hands high, near hip slightly down, shod, no visible brand, value £l4; the property of Edward Laughton Rattrick. Identifiable. Swagmen suspected.

Supposed stolen during the night of the 19tli ultimo, from the yard of the White Horse Hotel, Beck’s, Otago, a light-bay mare, hack breed, six years old, Isf hands high, black points, off hough swollen, narrow blaze down face, branded G on near shoulder, fore shoes only, value £ls; had on a canvas cover, brown-carpet lining, web roller with red-and-white stripes; value £1; tbe property of James Gilhooley. Identifiable. Swagmen suspected. It is supposed that a pair of winkers stolen during tbe same night at Beck’s, from the wagon of a man named Henry, were taken to ride the mare away with.
