Rewards. The sum of £5 has been awarded from the Reward Fund to Constable George Neale, Queenstown Police, in recognition of the energy, zeal, and efficiency shown by him in the arrest and prosecution of Frederick Coy, committed for trial for killing six sheep with intent to steal the skins.
The sum of £1 has been awarded to Constable Thomas Harvey, Hawke’s Bay Police, for the arrest of John George Craig, who deserted from the ship “ Wave Queen.”
Between the 22nd and 24th ultimo, at Woodlands, Southland, seven bags containing seed oats, the property of William Smith, were maliciously cut, and the oats scattered about and damaged to the extent of £l.
During the night of the 26th ultimo, at Tinwald, three tether collars and ropes, the property of Cyril Jepson, value £l, were maliciously cut to pieces and destroyed.
During the night of the 28th ultimo a wire fence at Te Awamutu, the properly of the G-overnment, was maliciously cut, and damaged to the extent of 10s.
