Robert Hall is charged, on warrant issued by the Palmerston North Bench, with disobeying an order, since the 2nd June last, to pay £1 per week towards the support of his wife and family. Description : Scotch, a blacksmith, forty-five years of age, 5 feet inches high, medium build, hazel eyes, light-brown curly hair, high cheek-bones. (See Police Gazette, 1881, page 120.) On the 17th ultimo he was £ll in arrear, and ss. costs.

James McGowan is charged, on warrant issued bv the Christchurch Bench, with deserting his wife and two children at Christchurch since the 20th ultimo. Description : Irish, a plasterer, twenty-four years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, fair complexion, full face, blue eyes, dark-brown hair, sandy beard, whiskers, and moustache, old boil-marks on left side of neck. He left Christchurch for Sydney about three months ago.
