About the Ist January last, and about the 10th ultimo, two shovels were maliciously broken, and 350 bricks maliciously destroyed, in the brickyard of Thomas Bryant, Dampier’s Bay, Lyttelton, value £1 ; and four large bottles were maliciously placed in the mill used for preparing the clay.

On the 23rd ultimo, at Hampden, a cow, value £8 10s., the property of Henry T. Murcott, was maliciously stabbed, from the effects of which she died.

During the night of the 18th ultimo a rail and five wires of the pound at Rakaia were maliciously cut through, and four horses which were in the pound released. The pound, which is the property of the Ashburton County Council, was damaged to the extent of ss.

During the night of the 15th ultimo, at Bush Creek, near Queenstown, about a quarter of a mile of a ti'amway line, the property of Michael Hughes, was maliciously torn up and damaged to the extent of £2O.

About the 23rd ultimo a shed at Port Chalmers, the property of the Government, was maliciously damaged, to the extent of about 7s. 6d.
