Description: Irish, a labourer, forty-five years of age, 5 feet 10 inches high, medium build, small grey eyes, dark hair mixed with grey, dark beard, whiskers, and moustache ; when last seen wore light-grey tweed suit and soft black-felt hat. It is supposed he has gone to Dunedin.

Stolen during the night of the Bth instant, from the stable of Alexander Johnston, Thames Street, Oamaru, an old saddle, very much worn, oval stirrup-irons and cotton girth ; and an old bridle with very thick rein tied in middle, buckle broken off; value £2 10s. Identifiable.

Stolen during the night of the 11th instant, from the fowlhouse of John Duff, Taranaki Street, Wellington, a yellow-and-silver rooster with speckled breast, a black Spanish hen, a grey Cochin China hen, and a black hen with brown breast and topknot ; value £l. Identifiable.

A man and woman, names unknown, are charged with stealing, on the 11th instant, from a fowlhouse at Oliiro Road, Wellington, three turkeys, since recovered; the property of James Webber. Description : The man is about twenty-three years of age, about 5 feet 8 inches high, stout build ; wore dark pea-jacket., dark trousers, and soft felt hat; active appearance. The woman is 5 feet 5 inches high, slight build; wore dark clothes. They were caught stealing the fowls, and ran away, leaving a bag marked T on the roadside, with the turkeys in it.

Stolen about the 23rd ultimo, from a shed at Richmond Road, Auckland, half a coil of fencing-wire and a potato-sack ; the property of John Campbell; value 9s. Identification doubtful.

Stolen between the 20th and 27th ultimo, from the verandah of the house of William C. Walker, Manukau Road, Auckland, a mackintosh coat with black-velvet collar, “ Thomas Whitson” written on inside about the middle of back ; a blue woollen shawl, and two bird-cages, wire network patternone round, painted brown, the other nearly square ; value £2 18s. Stolen between the 26th ultimo and 2nd instant, from a stable at Timaru, a solid colonial-gold albert guard, 18 carat, long-link pattern with third link overlapping at each joining, two small split links at end, to one of which was attached a gold French or German coin about the size of a sovereign, with “20” on one side; the property of William Cook; value £l4 10s. Stolen on. the 9th instant, from the reclaimed land at Wellington, a surveyor’s level box, about 15 by 18 inches, made of red wood like cedar, velvet pads inside; the box was in a dark-leather case, with handle, two straps and brass buckles, and contained an eye-piece about 1£ inches in diameter for tube of level, and a small looking-glass 1 by 1£ inches ; the property of James D.
