Missing Friends.

Information is requested respecting the whereabouts of Adelaide Gason, a native of Ireland, about forty-three years of age, tall slender build, lady-like appearance, fair complexion, sharp features, very short hair; wore black skirt and brown shawl with grey ground and fancy tassels ; a fast walker. She was last seen on the 17th ultimo at South Dunedin, going towards Dunedin, and, as she is somewhat eccentric, fears for her safety are entertained.

Information is requested respecting the whereabouts of John Bryan, sometimes called John Joseph, a native of South Carolina, America, a carpenter by trade, between forty-five and fifty years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high. He kept the Bendigo Hotel at the Thames, and was also a cab proprietor. He left Auckland by the steamer “ Hero ” on the Bth August, 1879, for Sydney or Melbourne, where it is supposed he is now employed as a cab-driver. Inquiry is made for him at the request of his wife.

Particulars are requested respecting the death of Elizabeth Herne (married name, Lymbery). It is said that she was living with Henry Thornton, who, being jealous of her, murdered her about six years ago in this colony.

Information is requested respecting the whereabouts of Robert Goose, a native of Martin Fen, Lincolnshire, England, a gold-miner, forty-five years of age, 6 feet high, stout build, dark complexion, weak eyes, dark hair, beard, whiskers, and moustache. He arrived in the colony about 1864, and about eight years ago was working on the West Coast Gold Fields. Inquiry is made for him at the instance of his brother John Goose, Willis Street, Wellington.

Information is requested respecting the whereabouts of Henry Bonton, English, a farm-labourer, sixteen years of age, 5 feet 4 inches high, slight build, fresh complexion, dark-brown hair ; wore dark-tweed suit and black billycock hat. He left his father’s home at Addington on the 6th July last, with the intention of returning to his employer, a Mr. Morrow, farmer, South Rakaia, but he did not go there, and has not since been heard of.
