Tiie sum of £3 has been awarded from the Reward Fund to Constable Albert Bennett, Grey Police, in recognition of his services in connection with the prosecution of George M. Wright, fined £25 and costs for sly grog-selling.

The sum of £3 each has been awarded from the Reward Fund to Sergeant-Major Henry Dundas and Constables Tame, Thomas Gordon, and John Patrick Ward, Taupo Reserve Force, in recognition of the energy and skill shown by them in the pursuit and arrest of James Wylie, alias C. Carey, alias John Jenkins, charged with several cases of horse-stealing and larceny.

The sum of £3 3s. has been awarded by the Bank of New Zealand to Constable Britton Irwin, Napier Police, in recognition of the prompt services rendered by him at the late fire in Hastings Street, Napier.

The police station at Pleasant Point, in the Timaru District, has been re-opened.

On the 18th ultimo, at Foxton, a heifer, the property of William Henry Williams, was maliciously wounded on the near fore-leg, by a man, name unknown, supposed with a tomahawk.

On the 11th ultimo, at Nine-Mile Beach, near Charleston, a cow, the property of Daniel Danahey, was maliciously wounded on the near rump, supposed with a tomahawk.

During the night of the 19th ultimo, at Grahamstown, a number of cabbages in the garden of Benjamin Poole were maliciously pulled out of the ground and destroyed.
