Extract from Victoria Police Gazette.
(From Police Gazette, 1880, page 25.) The store of Edward Oddy, boot merchant, 159, Swanston Street, Melbourne, was entered on the night of the 28th January, and the following described property stolen : A trunk high-heel mock-lace shoes down to toes, men’s size; a trunk men’s clastic shoes, sewn soles, various sizes; a trunk women’s kid boots, high heels, mixed with lasting mock lace down front to toes ; a trunk ail lasting plain fronts, containing forty-eight pairs mixed kid boots, mock buttons down side, with red-leather under buttons, very high heels; also a great variety of men’s and women’s boots and shoes, football boots, shooting boots, and kid shoes with blue ties. The men’s mock lace boots have buff lining, and the kid tie shoes have blue liuing. All identifiable, arid value £l5O. Entrance gained by forcing the back door with a “ jemmy.” A cart or cab must have bpen employed by the thieves. —O. 624. —31st January, 1880.—The stolen property may be brought to this colony, New Zealand.
