A GIRL, name unknown, is charged with having, on the 24th ultimo, at Wellington, obtained three ladies’ long black cloth jackets (two of them trimmed with black fur), value, £3 4s. 6d., from J. T. Si eel, by false pretences. Description: About sixteen years of age, medium height, rather stout build, fresh complexion, round features, brown hair, broad shoulders; wore grey wincey dress, small black lace cape, and straw hat. Identifiable.

F. C. Bennett, charged on warrant with having obtained goods and money from James Beattie, at Invercargill, by means of a valueless cheque, has been arrested by Constable George Cartmill, Waimate Police.

Joseph Bastella, charged on warrant with having obtained money from Eddington, Bust, and Co., by false pretences, has been arrested by Detective John Mitchell Walker, Christchurch Police, and remanded to Oamaru. His correct name is Joseph Barreira.

Henry Stebbings, charged on warrant with forgery and larceny committed on the Governors of the Lincoln Dispensary, has been arrested by Superintendent William Henry James, and Probationary Detective Maurice Sullivan,Wellington Police, and remanded to Lincoln.
A girl, name unknown, is charged with having obtained, on the 6th instant, by false pretences, from Stone and Co., Cuba Street, Wellington, seven pairs of ladies’ elastic-side black kid boots, with patent leather tops, sizes 3 and .4; value £4 2s. Identifiable. Description: Supposed to be a native of the colony, fifteen years of age, medium build, brown hair, good-looking, respectable appearance; wore black-felt hat trimmed with black velvet, and dark waterproof cloak. She falsely represented that she was sent for the boots by Mrs. Harding, of the Brunswick Hotel, Willis Street.
