Missing Friends.

Information is requested respecting the whereabouts of James Cunningham Johnson, a Londoner, a baker by trade, thirty-two years of age, 5 feet 1 or 2 inches high, slight build, erect gait, fair complexion, rather reddish face, and prominent nose, blue eyes, light-brown curly hair, light whiskers at sides of face, and small moustache, otherwise clean shaved; usually dressed in black frock coat, black trousers and vest, and black dress hat; wears a gold chain. He was supposed to be in Invercargill carrying on business as a baker, and likely passing under an assumed name, but no trace can be found of him there. Inquiry is made for him at the request of his wife, whom he deserted at Hotham, Victoria, on the 7th June, 1873. See Victoria Police Gazette, 1873, page 191.
