Stolen on the 13th instant, from the cabin of the steamer “Taupo,” between Lyttelton and Wellington, a heavy broad hoop-pattern gold ring, with diamond in claw setting, the property of Henry Thomson; value £55. Identifiable. Suspicion attached to Frederick Carter, an assistant-steward on board the “Taupo.” English, about eighteen years of age, 5 feet 4or 5 inches high, fresh complexion, brown hair, light brown eyes, large nose, boyish appearance.
Stolen on the 11th instant, from Tory Street, Wellington, a swag, consisting of a tent, a grey blanket, a suit of working clothes, three coloured shirts, two pairs of cotton socks, and a small bag containing a pocket-book, comb, brush, and scissors ; the property of Francis Conway; value £2. Identifiable.
Stolen on the 10th instant, from a clothes-line at Bushy House, Stafford Street, Dunedin, two children’s white flannel night.-gowns, red worsted-work round necks, bottoms, and breasts ; one grey and two blue pairs of women’s worsted stockings, darned, and two pairs of children’s stockings ; the property
of Amelia Muir; value 15s. Identifiable. Stolon at the same time and place a grey mohair skirt, bottom bound with blue braid ; and a light coloured skirt, without trimming ; the property of Bridget Martin ; value 12s. Identifiable.
Stolen about the 4th instant, from the blacksmith’s shop, near the Auckland Railway Station, a piece of wood, about 7 feet long by 8 inches wide and 2 inches thick, painted black, with a white streak along the edge ; used by plate-layers on the railway ; branded with the railway brand ; the properly of the Government; value ss. Identifiable.
Stolen on the 4th instant, from on board the steamer “ Rotamahana, at the Queen’s Wharf, Auckland, a small-size-round-mouthed shovel, and a nearly new coir broom ; the property of Alexander Farquhar; value Bs. Identifiable.
Stolen on the 9th instant, from a boat on the beach, North Shore, Auckland, two cold chisels about 8 inches long, a crowbar about 3 feet long a small round-faced hammer, and eight copper bolts from 12 to 18 inches long and f inch thick ; the property of James McEwen ; value 355. Identifiable.
Stolen between the 13th and 16th instant, from the wreck of the schooner “ St. Hilda,” at Greymouth, three dozen small brass hooks, value 9s. ; three brass mountings for drawers, value 225. 6d. ; and two brass knobs for drawers, value 6s. ; the property of Kennedy Bros.

The holly trees stolen from the garden of James Cooper, at Waikini, near Invercargill, have been recovered and traced to the possession of George Burley and William Woodworth, who have been arrested and sentenced to three months’ labour for the offence.
Stolen about the 6th instant, from a building in course of erection in Leithfield Street, Christchurch, a carpenter’s hand-saw and a tenon-saw; the property of Walter Scott. Identifiable.
Stolen about the 4th instant, at Outram, Otago District a gold albert chain, a gold locket, containing a woman’s likeness in one side, and grey hair in the other, and a white-flowered silk handkerchief, the property of David Strang; value £3. Identifiable.
Stolen on the sth instant, at Tauranga, a ham of bacon about 101bs., the property of the Rev. William Maunsell; value 10s.
Stolen during the night of the 30t.h ultimo, from a house in course of erection in Wellesley Street, Auckland, a nearly new American claw-hammer, branded “Shailer” on end, value ss. 6d. ; a hand plane, half-iron face, branded “ Shailer ” on both ends, value 11s.; a 6-inch square, branded “C. S. Wright,” value 35.; a 9-inch oil-stone, value 65.; a new liand-saw, R. Sorby maker, value 6s. ; a 2-foot rule, value 2s. 6d.; a 2-inch ch'sel, marked “C. S. Wright,” value 2s. 6d. ; the property of Henry Shailer. Identifiable.
Stolen on the 7th instant, from off a horse at Prebbleton, Canterbury District, a good pigskin saddle, with new leather girths, a knot in centre ; and an old double-reined bridle, with pelham bit; the property of William Prebble; value£s. Identifiable.
Stolen about the 12th instant, from the garden of Joseph M. Wheeler, Armagh Street East, Christchurch, 9 small rosebushes ; value 9s.

James Trueman, alias Freeman, charged on warrant with the larceny of a farm-fork, the property of Charles Jackson and another, has been arrestedjind sentenced to 14 days’ labour for the offence.
