[Blakey Edmund Clifton, who was associated with New Zealand farming for 60 years. He was appointed Director of the Fields and Experimental Farms Division in 1909 and organised the establishment of Ruakura, Waerenga, Weraroa, and Moumahaki as large mixed farms on which a great deal of experimental work was done.
