Left—The intake side of the pump from the bottom of the drain. The outline of the pump can be seen through the screen. The enlargement at the base of the pump is the intake screen. Right-The upper end of the pump shown at left. It has been fitted for belt drive from a diesel engine. Normally, an electric motor would be mounted on the top mounting plate. The hand is pointing to the discharge opening of the pump, which has yet to be extended so that the water will pour over the wall.
