HIGH-COUNTRY FARMING
The area of New Zealand under occupation is 43 million acres, of which 23 million acres is unimproved land, the greater part being hill country. Extensive grazing runs on tussock and surfacesown high country provide the sheep from which lowland farmers draw breeding ewes for fat lamb raising and store sheep and lambs for fattening.
