ATRIPLEX PATULUM: COMMON ORACHE. Pericarp grey, seed black. The striations of the pericarp are transverse, whereas those of Chenopodium album are radial. Occurs with medium frequency in red clover and lucerne. Australia admits not more than 50 seeds per ounce. An annual weed most common in coastal regions, ' but abundant on cultivated land in some inland localities.
