SUMMER MEETING

The progress which racing is making in the north of Auckland is furnished by the increased stakes being offered by country clubs in connec- • tion with their annual meetings. The Northern Wairoa Racing Club have arranged an attractive programme for their summer meeting, which takes place on January 15, two days before the Kawakawa fixture, and can look forward with every confidence to a large contingent of visiting horses putting in an appearance at Dargaville next- month. The principal event is the Northern .Wairoa Cup Handicap, of 150sovs., 1% miles, while the other seven races are run over distances varying from five furlongs to a mile, and are of the value of from GOsovs. up to lOOsovs. Nominations are due with the secretary, "Mr. J. P. Stanaway, Dargaville, or with Mr. C. F. Mark, Auckland, on Friday, December 17, at 5 pm.
