WELLINGTON NOTES.
(By
WELLINGTON, November 29. “The Bing Boys on Broadway,” after a successful run, was replaced last Friday evening by “The Passing Show of 1920.” It met with a very hearty reception, all the principals getting great applause for the good work they did. Theatregoers will be sorry to hear that this is Miss Maggie Dickinson’s last appearance in the Dominion for some time to come, as she has decided to try her luck in America and England. She is undoubtedly one of the most brilliant and “brainy” dancers that Australia has produced. No doubt we have other great dancers in these parts in Maie Baird, Phyllis and Maud Amery, and Madge Elliott, but in Miss Dickinson’s dancing there is a certain poetic quality which has rightly earned for her the name of “the Australian Genee,” and her place will be a difficult one to fill. Mr. Borneo Gardiner, the clever young New Zealand whistler and entertainer, is meeting with much success at the Victoria Palace and other vaudeville houses in London.
