OTAHUHU TROTTING CLUB.

SPRING MEETING. The Otaliuhu Trotting Club will hold their spring meeting on Saturday and Wednesday next, November 27 and December 1, on the Auckland Trotting Club’s course at Alexandra Park, and it is certain that the fixture, which is the first of the new season’s trotting gatherings to be held in Auckland, will attract wide patronage from turf enthusiasts. Special interest will be centred in the meeting in view of the fact that the Auckland T.C.’s new track will be raced on for the first time, while visitors to the Park will find remarkable changes effected since the last gathering held on the Epsom convincing ground. The accommodation has been trebled as a result of the stands and other buildings having been . shifted a considerable distance forward from t-heir original positions, while the terraces, which form a portion of the new concrete stand which is to be erected by the Auckland Trotting Club, have been completed, and will provide an excellent point of vantage from which lawn patrons can view the racing. The old main stand will provide additional accommodation for those who attend the fixture. A series of views of the improvements that have been effected at Alexandra Park appears, on page 38 of this issue, and will be of interest to followers of trotting. The officials of the Otahuhu Trotting Club have spared no effort in making thorough preparations for the meeting, and with satisfactory acceptances for Saturday’s racing there is every reason to anticipate some highclass contests.
