NEW ZEALAND CROQUET COUNCIL.

[The “Sporting and Dramatic Review” has been officially appointed the organ of the New Zealand Croquet Council. Communications from Association or Club Secretaries, with photographs, should reach this office as early as possible in the week.] Croquet players throughout , the Dominion will be glad to hear that the New Zealand Croquet Council has now divided the country up into districts for the purposes of getting into touch with all clubs and players. Each district is based,as far as possible on the existing associations, and it is hoped very shortly to publish a complete list of these with their honorary secretaries. As at present constituted they are as follows: — Auckland District, represented by the Auckland Croquet Association; hon. secretary, Mrs. Keesing, 2 Parliament Street, Auckland. Canterbury District, represented by Canterbury Croquet Association; hon. secretary, S. McCullough, Esq., 127 Office Road, Christchurch. Wellington District, represented by Wellington Croquet Association; hon. secretary, Mrs. McKenzie, 116 Richmond Street, Petone. Waikato District, represented by Rotorua Centre; hon. secretary, Croquet Club, Rotorua. Hawke’s Bay District, represented by Hastings, Napier, etc.; hon. secretary, H. P. Stratton, Esq., P.O. Box 156, Hastings. Manawatu District, represented by the Manawatu Croquet Association, Palmerston North Centre; hon. secretary, C. A. Ferguson, Esq., Manawatu Bowling and Croquet Club. Taranaki District, Nelson District, West Coast District, Otago District, unrepresented at present. As far as possible, all districts have now been communicated with. The central organisation in the districts are now asked to get into touch at once with all the clubs and playing members in their area, to elect officers, and appoint a regular delegate to the New Zealand Croquet Council, which will hold its general meeting at the New Zealand championship tournament, in January. The subscription foi - affiliation to the council is Is. per member per annum. Honorary secretaries of the district associations are expected to send these subscriptions to the hon. treasurer. All subscriptions are due now for the current year. Regular notices will be issued during the season in this journal, and secretaries and members are asked to keep in touch. The officers of the New Zealand Croquet Council are as follows: — President, E. J. Ross, Esq., Canterbury Association; vice-president, Dr. Fullerton, Auckland Association; hon. treasurer, C. F. Spooner, Manawatu Association, P.O. Box 232, Palmerston North; committee, the above officers, with H. A. Penn, Esq., and R. Chambers, Esq. (Canterbury Association); hon. secretary and official handicapper, Dr. Whitaker (Manawatu Association), Palmerston North. The honorary secretary would be glad to hear from all clubs, associations and* members. Points in dispute will be settled as far as may be by the council.
