Missmaid and Galore Both Doing Serviceable Work —Tenterfield to Make His Debut at Wanganui—Wairarapa Owners With Representatives in 1921 Feilding Stakes—W. Hawthorne to Take Dozen Horses to Wellington Meeting. MASTERTON, Saturday. Missmaid, which won several hack races for Mr. Kemball last season, is looking well just now, and will be seen out, at Otaki. Galore has come on a lot lately, and is doing serviceable work at Clareviile. AV. H. Corlett is looking forward to a successful season with the daughter of All Black —Orlay. Mr. A. McDonald has named the Kilbroney—Christmas Rose filly Bonn e Rose, and the Kilbroney—Mistime filbv Kiltime. Both are two-year-olds, and have shown a fair amount of promise in their work so far. Fifteen Masterton - owned horses have been entered for the Egmont Sakes of 1922, and 14 for the Hawera Stakes. Negambo has been tried over hurdles and on the. flat since coming from Australia, but has failed to win a race, and is among the entrants for the maiden events a,* 4 Otaki. Explorer is being kept going at Opaki, and will be seen out in flat events during the early part of the present. season. The Australian-bred gelding has only been moderately successful since being purchased by Mr. Kemball, bu* is expected to do much better when the jumping season comes pound. In the handicap for the open hurdle race at the AA’anganui meeting the three Masterton-owned horses, Mill o’ Cowrie, Rekanui, and Gladful, were placed a* the top of the list in the cider named. P. Hazelman has kept Bitters going since the AVellington meeting, and the son of Advance—Endeavour bears a very healthy appearance at present. It will be surprising if this Tauhere-nikau-trained horse does not get among the winners shortly. Mr. Duncan McLachlan, a wellknown Masterton -sportsman, and for a long time a steward of the local racing club, recently underwent a serious operation for eye trouble, and if, is feared will lose the sight of one eve.

Tenterfield., by Sea Prince —Tenterhook, which claims an engagement in the New Zealand Cup, and is handicapped at 7.8, is to make his first appearance in New Zealand in the maiden race at Wanganui. The Kilbroney—Love-a-Duck two-year-old in J. T. Jamieson’s stable has been named I’Armour, and the name of Prudent Lad has been given to the gelding by Prudent King—Lady Limasol, in the same stable. _ Mr. Kemball has four entries in the I'eilding Stakes of next year, Mr. A. McDonald five, and Mr. H. J. AV. Lord two. The Featherston-trained Zenith and Zero Hour are also engaged. Although Probate has not faced the starter for several months, she is doing steady work ai Tauherenikau, and AV. Galbraith has the daughter oi Provocation — Wailethe looking really well. J. T. Jamie-son has not had the best oi luck with his horses since going to Auckland, and advice received in Masterten is to the effect that Affectation and the two-year-old Tommy Rot are both sore. AA .
