At the special meeting of the Auckland District Committee held last week for the purpose of considering applications lodged respectively for trainers’ and jockeys’ licenses, the following were successful applicants: Trainers. —A. Jockeys’ licenses for jumping races only were granted to J. W. Anderton and P. Brady. Messrs. F. Marshall and P. Bolton were granted permission to train their own horses. L- H. Hewitt, who is leaving the Dominion, was granted a clearance. The Whangarei Racing Club’s programme was approved, and it was agreed to recommend the club’s application for change of date to October 13 and 16.
