WELLINGTON NOTES.

“Lorgnette.”
WELLINGTON, May 10. The ten nights season of the comedy “Lightnin’ ” at the Grand Opera House has been nothing more than one huge success, the house being packed at each performance, which emphasises the fact that those who have the pleasure of. being entertained by genuine American comedy recommend it to their friends and acquaintances. The result is naturally a genuine success. Mr. J. D. O’Hara’s Bill Jones is a human study, and has to be seen to be appreciated. Mr. O’Hara is supported by a firstclass combination of artists, and it is to be hoped that the J.C.W. firm will secure another vehicle for him to show his ability. Though Wellington is said to be a music-loving community, the public do not seem to rush the organ recitals at the Town Hall. Of course, they have to pay for admission. Quite different with the Sunday evening band concerts. They are rushed, but then it is a silver coin collection.
