A. J. McFlinn has been having a rare innings in classic races. The Northern Champagne on Humbug, the Trentham and Awapuni Gold Cups on Amythas, and the Manawatu and Hawke’s Bay Stakes races came his way last month. In the Manawatu Stakes he effected the defeat of Amythas on the Achilles mare Silver Link and in. the Hawke’s Bay Stakes beat Humbug with the same mare.
