TE KUITI RACING CLUB.

ANNUAL MEETING

The Te Kuiti Racing Club have awarded no less a sum than £1220 in stakes for their annual meeting, which is to be held on Saturday, February 14, and there is every reason to expect a' highly successful reunion of this progressive club on that date. Excellent patronage is assured from owners and trainers throughout the Auckland province, while racegoers can be relied upon to assemble at Te Kuiti in large numbers about the middle of next month. The principal event of the meeting, the Te Kuiti Cup Handicap (one mile and a-quarter) carries with it the stpFp of 37Kc<ovs. which is certain to attract a field of good size and quality. The Stewards’ Handicap of 200sovs, six furlongs, will

make a strong appeal to owners of sprinters, who will also have a further opportunity of landing a good stake either in the Farewell Handicap of llOsovs, five furlongs, or the Welter Handicap of llOsovs, seven furlongs. The inclusion on the wellendowed programme of the Hack Hurdles of 130sovs, one mile and a-half, will also meet with considerable appreciation from those who have jumpers under their charge. The hack division have been liberally catered for, the following three events being provided for their requirements: Maiden Handicap of 75sovs, seven furlongs, for horses that have not won a race at the time of starting; Otorohanga Handicap of llOsovs, five furlongs, for horses that have not won a race of the value of lOOsovs or races of the collective value of 250sovs at the time of starting; and the Te Kumi Handicap of llOsovs, six furlongs, for horses that have not won a race of the value of 60sovs at time of starting. The Te Kuiti Racing Club have had several important improvements carried out on their course since their last meeting, and everything is now in readiness for what should prove in every respect a most enjoyable and successful fixture. Nominations for all events are due either with the secretary, Mr. J. H. Trinnear, Te Kuiti, or with Messrs. Blomfield and Co., Auckland, on Friday, January 23, at 9 p.m.
