MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 29. HANDICAPS. — Kingsland Handicap Hurdle Race, Nursery Handicap, Plumpton Handicap, Mt. Albert Steeplechase Handicap, President’s Handicap, New Lynn Hack Handicap, Nihotapu Welter Handicap. All Entries to be addressed to the Secretary, Union Bank Buildings, Victoria Street, Auckland. RULES AND REGULATIONS. To which the Attention of Persons Entering Horses is Particularly Requested. No entry will be received for any of the races except on this condition: That all disputes, claims and objections arising out of the racing shall be decided by a majority of the Stewards present, or those whom they may appoint. When two or more horses start the property of the same owner, a distinguishing colour must be declared on entry day and worn. No nomination or acceptance will be received on any pretence whatever after the hour named, or without being accompanied by the necessary amount in cash. The attention of owners is particularly called to this Regulation. Thig Rule will not apply to owners who have previous arrangements with the Club. A.ny person intending to withdraw a horse shall give notice in writing to that effect to the Secretary or clerk of the Scales at least half an hour before the time appointed for starting; and any person who shall neglect or refuse to comply with this Rule shall be fined by the Stewards a sum not less than Isov nor more than 20sovs. No horse shall be considered as struck out of his engagement unless such notice has been given. All entries to be sealed and addressed to the Secretary, Union Bank Buildings, Victoria Street, Auckland, and should be made on the Club’s printed form of entry, pedigree, and in cases of handicaps, performance of the horse, name of the owner, and colours of the rider. Any person failing to register his colours at time of entry shall be fined Isov. Owners are responsible for all penalties and allowances. In all cases where penalties have to be carried for winning, it shall be the duty of the owner, trainer or jockey to notify the same to the Secretary, where possible, the evening before the race, or in any case half an hour prior to the start. Any person neglecting to comply with this Rule shall pay a fine to be imposed by the Stewards, not exceeding ssovs. Prior to any race the Stewards may order a parade in front of the stand. Any horse being absent from such parade without permission of the Stewards will be fined 2sovs. All races to be run under the Rules of Racing, as passed by the New Zealand Racing Conference. Entries by telegram or telephone must be confirmed in writing at the earliest possible opportunity. No jockey shall be weighed out for any race unless the amount of his minimum fee as for a losing mount in the race has been previously deposited with the Secretary or Clerk_ of the Scales, or other Official appointed by the Stewards for that purpose. If he wins, the balance of his fee shall be deducted from the stakes otherwise payable to the owner, and shall be paid to him. The Club shall be responsible to the jockey for his minimum fee under these Rules, less 2% per cent, thereon, to be deducted by the Club for collecting and paying and for the responsibility hereby imposed.
