DAY COMET (IMP.) (ST. FRUSQUIN—CATGUT). St. Frusquin is one of the best racehorses and sires of winners and winner producers in England. Catgut is an illustrious mare, with six of her progeny winners, Day Comet, his full brothers. Quinologist and Planet, and his half brothers, Cattagat and Violineello, conspicuous performers in England. Day Comet has already two winning representatives. Lacantius, sire of Catgut, was an excellent performer, winning the Great Kingston Two-year-old Plate, Earl Spencer Plate at Northampton and Electric Stakes, in which he beat Signorina a head, and as a sire proved a success. Craigel lachie won seven races, and her son, Scotch Duke IG, and Archiestown seven at two, three’ four and five years old, and five times over hurdles, beating Waterbed (voted (he best hurdle horse last year in England), conceding him 71b.
