Will Comfort, who won the V.R.C. Grand National Hurdle Race, ruled as favourite for some time previous to the race, while the ex-New Zealander, Beltane, was second choice. It is announced by the Calcutta Turf _ Club that no thoroughbred horse's imported into India from Australia after July 31 will be allowed to start in races under its jurisdiction unless a Stud Book certificate is produced, signed by Mr. L. G. Rouse, of Sydney, keeper of the Stud Book.
