SIR DAVID BEATTY’S FLAGSHIP, H.M.S. QUEEN ELIZABETH, THROWN OPEN TO VISITORS AT LIVERPOOL. The four guns shown created great interest. Sir David Beatty in his farewell speech to the officers and men of the Queen Elizabeth said: “I am confident the Queen Elizabeth will live up to her great reputation. The spirit of the Queen Elizabeth and the Grand Fleet will ever remain. This is to me a sad day, because it brings to an end my service in the Fleet, and I may say my service afloat.”
